This year Nepali runner and trekker Mira Rai has won the competition. She is so inspiring to the women that she has proved the power of women in trekking sector. She has hiked through the Hōkūle‘a celestial circumnavigators, Grand Canyon and she also conquered the world’s deepest under water cave.

Mira was typically grown in the one of the rural villages of Nepa, in Bhojpur district. Mira Rai is now 29 years old. She is a extra ordinary women and had very different expectation and dreams than normal Nepali women.

“As a girl, I would constantly be told to know my place, suppress my voice, and act in a certain manner. For me, breaking free from these traditions itself was a big dream,” she says in an interview. She was also involved in Maoist revolution for 10 years.
